Empowering Tailored Care Management with MediSked by CaseWorthy
Before adopting CaseWorthy, Goodwill of the Heartland faced a familiar challenge: too many systems and not enough consistency. Staff managed participant information across paper files, Microsoft Office documents, and a separate client database used mostly for billing and reporting. This fragmented approach meant entering the same data multiple times, which created errors and made reporting difficult.
In 2017, Goodwill of the Heartland selected CaseWorthy as their single source of truth case management platform. Now, instead of submitting support tickets and waiting on vendor updates, Goodwill of the Heartland can now build and adjust the tools staff need directly within the system. When a program manager requests a new field or a funder requires a different report format, CaseWorthy can make it happen quickly.
What you’ll hear about:
- How Goodwill of the Heartland moved from disparate sources to a single CaseWorthy platform across all six programs
- Why an in-house administrator model let Goodwill build custom reports and workflows quickly, without support tickets or delays
- How consolidating data eliminated duplicate records, simplified audits, and strengthened funding applications with more reliable participant reporting
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
My name is Patricia Diaz. I am the mission services specialist at Goodwill of the Heartland in Iowa. Goodwill is a mission funded for participants looking to find skills, job development, learn skills to live on their own, and to get day services in our day habilitation program.
So we have workforce services, Helms Career Center, day habilitation services, supported community living, and youth services and veteran services.
Basically, we were using Microsoft Office, like Word docs, Excel, and also the client database that we needed to enter for billing services and reporting and audits and that. So we had paper files, electronic files with Microsoft Office, and then also the electronic file in our client database.
Because of the customization that you can do in CaseWorthy, it’s given me more work because I’m the one doing the work, but it’s making less work for my staff. So the reports I can pull to say, “Hey, something is missing,” to let staff know, “Hey, can you, you know, enter this data so we can report to our funders?” have helped us actually get more funding, more grants, because I can pull the information out and say, “We did serve these type of participants in our, our locations,” and that. So it does help us gain money and also, uh, put out what we actually do.
I can’t get over the customization. I think we love the ability to make CaseWorthy ours is what’s one of the best features of CaseWorthy.
