A Lifeline to Safety
How Women Against Abuse Uses Collaboration and Data to Support Survivors, Inform Decisions, and Engage Funders
Thursday, November 12 @ 10 AM MT (NOON ET)
ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
How can organizations serving people experiencing intimate partner violence make support more accessible while helping decision makers and funders understand the difference their work makes? This webinar brings those questions together through the experience of Women Against Abuse.
Join Women Against Abuse and CaseWorthy for a conversation about the Philadelphia Domestic Violence Hotline, a free, confidential, 24-hour resource operated by WAA in partnership with Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Lutheran Settlement House, and Women in Transition. Initiated in 2005 with support from the City of Philadelphia, the hotline receives more than 10,000 calls each year from people experiencing relationship abuse, concerned family and friends, professionals, and community members.
WAA leaders will explore the partnerships and practices behind this citywide point of access, including crisis intervention, safety planning, and connections to emergency housing, legal services, and behavioral health care. The discussion will also address language access through translation services and the importance of keeping survivor safety and confidentiality central.
The conversation will connect that service-delivery example with WAA’s broader use of data to inform stakeholders, support advocacy, demonstrate impact, and engage funders. Nonprofit and human-services leaders will leave with practical ideas for strengthening partnerships and communicating needs and outcomes while preserving the dignity of the people behind the numbers.
