The Arc of Southern Maryland is the leading advocate for children and adults with intellectual and development disabilities living and working in Southern Maryland. They are a participating agency of the United Ways in all three counties. Their staff works with clients in the clients’ homes or within the community, assisting them with services ranging from doctor appointment management, shopping for groceries and other necessities, daily chores, personal care, financial management, community integration through participation in community events, and transportation. Their mission is to create opportunities for independence and personal success for people with different abilities in inclusive communities.
