JFS Columbus Advances Community Impact with a Streamlined Case Management Approach

Jewish Family Services (JFS) Columbus’ mission is to help individuals and families achieve economic self-sufficiency and emotional stability. Since 1908, they have been guided by the core Jewish value of Tikkun olam – to “repair the world” – to provide personalized, holistic, and compassionate supports to meet the complex needs of all those who walk through their doors. Each year, they help thousands of people through their extensive programs which include refugee services, career services, mental health services, senior services, and other supports enabling individuals and families to meet basic needs for food, home and employment.

JFS’ Chief Operating Officer, Melissa Starr, shared how utilizing CaseWorthy is helping them with data analytics and fulfill their mission to improve lives in their community.

Why Jewish Family Services Chose CaseWorthy

With a mission to support individuals from all backgrounds while maintaining a strong commitment to serving the Jewish community, JFS needed a case management system that could handle complex data reporting, customization, and integration with a JFS proprietary platform. After evaluating multiple case management solutions, JFS selected CaseWorthy due to its alignment of mission driven support for nonprofits and health and human services organizations.

We chose CaseWorthy after evaluating a few different options, and it had the strongest lens when it came to surveying nonprofits and health and human services. It had the most robust features and an understanding that made sense for us.

Efficiencies Gained Through CaseWorthy

Customization Opportunities

Implementing CaseWorthy has provided JFS with the ability to customize reporting and workflows both independently and with the support of CaseWorthy’s team.

“The fact that I can do a lot of customization both on my own and with the support of the CaseWorthy team has been really important for us. We didn’t think we needed much of a customized solution, but knowing that we could customize has been invaluable. CaseWorthy has also helped us think about using APIs in ways that are crucial to our operations.”

Ease of Use for Direct Service Users

The transition to CaseWorthy has been smooth for frontline service providers at JFS, improving efficiency and data accuracy.

“It has been a really smooth transition for our direct service users that are using the system. That has been really, really useful.”

Exceptional Support from CaseWorthy

One of the standout experiences for JFS has been working with CaseWorthy consultant Matt Siple, whose expertise has significantly streamlined JFS’s case management processes.

“Matt has been amazing. He understands CaseWorthy at a high level and helps us find solutions quickly. His problem-solving has been invaluable.”

Enhancing Reporting to Highlight Impact

With funding from multiple sources, including both public and private contributors, JFS needed a system that could generate detailed, tailored reports to meet different funders’ requirements. CaseWorthy has been instrumental in achieving this.

“CaseWorthy is really important for us to be able to talk about our impact in the ways our funders require. We serve a broad community, but as a Jewish nonprofit, we also need to be able to report on how we are supporting the Jewish community specifically. Not every system can do that, but CaseWorthy makes it possible.”

"Being able to drill down into data in a way that was previously manual has been a game changer. CaseWorthy allows us to capture the complexity of our work, from tracking diverse funding sources to demonstrating our impact on different communities."
